Carol Shutt

Carol began photographing Shaker images and nature scenes as a way of relaxation from her experiences as a health care professional.  She enjoys photographing historical and cultural sites and events as a way to preserve history.  As a certified Kentucky Community Scholar, Carol has begun including people and their stories in her photography.  Carol notes that so much of our history is disappearing from the landscape and she believes it is vitally important to preserve these iconic images and stories for future generations.  Carol is a juried member of the Kentucky Arts Council’s Kentucky Crafted Program and the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen as well as the South Arts.  She is also a member of the Fleming County Council for the Arts.  Carol’s work is available in various gift shops and is part of the decor for the Smoky Mountain Ridge Resort in Tennessee.  She is currently at work on two books and is also available for commissioned works.
