Vivian Brown

Vivian Brown enjoys painting on a variety of objects from jars to saws, canvas to gourds.  Vivian is a self-taught artist who always liked to “doodle” and at age 25 began teaching herself to paint.  Vivian was born and raised in Elliott County, Kentucky.  She and her husband have been married 47 years and returned to live in Elliott County after having lived outside of Kentucky for nearly 30 years.  Vivian enters her painted creations in locals fairs and has won numerous awards.  She also sells her items at local craft shows.  Vivian is involved in the local Tourism Council and the Clothesline of Quilts, an initiative that began in Ohio and has since spread to several states, including Kentucky.  Clothesline of Quilts features quilts painted by local artists and displayed on barns throughout the state.  There are currently 65 painted quilts displayed on Kentucky barns through the Clothesline of Quilts.
